Update the Valentine!!

I came across a challenge out in blog-land (over at Pooka's Crayon) that suggested we try to update the Valentine. Remember the silly little Valentine's we gave out as kids? You know, the cheap little ones we still buy for our kids because they come 24 to a box for about 99 cents. They have cartoon people on one side and say To: / From: on the other side. You fold them in half so they almost disappear, then pass them out to your classmates.

Well, the challenge was to remake these little bitties. They had to be one-sided, no larger that 3.5" x 5'', say To/From on the back, have at least one stamp and two embellishments. I thought - "What a great idea for my small group of sixth grade girls in youth group!" So, I made 14 (ran short a few and need to make more tomorrow! Ack!) and here they are! My embellishments are mostly ribbon and stickers, but occasionally there's a rub on also. ;)

This dog one I've saved for my son!! ;)

  1. These are just FANTASTIC!!

I swear, I should have gone to my daughter's school and done this with the kids last week (but I had the flu, ICK), just to give their party this week a little more oompfh.

My daughters, of course, insist on making all their own Valentine's this year. :D

I am REALLY impressed with these, and how you took the challenge to heart. Awesome job!
