Secret Sister Week 1 & 2

I signed up for a Secret Sister exchange on Lorie Ames' blog Live, Love, Laugh, Create. I have been having a blast making cards and sending little goodies to my secret sis. Well, I got my first package and I got 2 weeks' worth of goodies at once!!

I just love the ribbon on this card,it is so soft!! I would love to find it somewhere! And the coloring my secret sis did is amazing!! I just don;t have the patience for this kind of intricate work. ;(

My first House Mouse!! Isn't this the sweetest thing?? I love the paper rick rack on the edges!!It's beautiful!! I'd love to find it too!!! And the paper that the image and sentiment are bordered on is shimmery - sooooo pretty!!!! Gotta' get me some!!!

And then there's the stickers!! 2 sets!!! Both are Stickopotamus, but I had to take them out of the wrapper to avoid the glare for the close up shots. I'm sure she sent the firecrackers cuz I said I make and send a lot of Patriotic cards for soldiers. I used to make a lot for birthdays for sons and daughters of people on MMO but now I'm going to concentrate on cards for Cards for Heroes and OQC. You should check them both out!

Reindeer Games Winnings!!!!

I had completely forgotten that I had won some blog candy over at Card Metaphors!! Alli sent me some adorable clear stamps (which I LOVE!!!) and they arrived two days ago.

Here they are ~ sooooo cute!!!! Thanks Alli!!!!!

QKD Versamark Challenge

Day 3 Challenge on Tanis' blog for the Great QKD Round Robin was a Versamark or tone-on-tone challenge. Basically, make anything you want with Versamark or tone-on-tone stamping. Well, anyone who knows me knows I love my Versamark!!! But, I have been terribly busy the last few days. Monday we spent the day at Maxfund after bringing in a Shetland Sheepdog who needed a new home. Then Tuesday we were down in Colorado Springs all day for a Hero's funeral. Today I slept. Much needed rest!! So, I'm going to pull some old cards and hope they are okay for the challenge.

You may also send patriotic, get-well, or thank-you cards to be sent to injured heroes through Operation Quiet Comfort. Please feel free to check out our FAQ if you need more information. From all entries (see below), a name will be drawn on February 2 using random.org for the grand prize after we compile all the entries.

How to Enter:
One entry for each card mailed in to any of the shippers by Jan. 31, 2008! Packages must say “With Love from the Homefront” on them to qualify so we know you’re entering. Please include your email address inside the package.

One entry for each blog post you put up on your site about this challenge and linking to it to help us get the word out! (You can either post about the challenge OR post your entry cards and link to this post.) Please post a link on this thread so we can all visit your blog and count it in the entries! Feel free to download the banner above to use!

One entry for each comment you make on either of our blogs (Homefront or Hero Blogs). Note that just a drive-by “hi” doesn’t count - we want to know what you think of the site and the content! Especially tell us what you’d like to see more, and what here inspires you to make more cards!

The Prize: Ya gotta go here to see what's in the prize!!!

These are the first two cards I'm going to send! If you make some cards, link back here so I can see them!! Just think of all the sketch challenges you already do - just do them in patriotic colors with sentiments based on the above! Or for St. Patty's Day, etc!

Old Sketch Challenges

I've got a few cards in my photo album here on my laptop, that I made as a challenge more or less to myself. I had come across some sketches that I liked, so I printed them out and when I had a chance, I worked with them. Unfortunately, I do not recall whose sketches they were. Once I get them posted, I will go about searching who the proper credit goes to for the original sketch. In the meantime, if you recognize the sketch as yours, please provide me with the link to your original sketch and I will put the credit up with the card. Thanks so much!!

Round Robin Blog Party ~ Challenge 1

The Queen Kat Design Party continues!! We are now officially in the Round Robin Blog Party and Penny is hosting Challenge 1. This challenge was to use notebook paper on our card somehow. Whether that meant using a notebook paper stamp (Queen Kat Designs has one, as well as Cornish Heritage Farms and others, I am sure) or using actual notebook paper - it did not matter.
