Remember What is Most Important

(stolen from mom's blog - thanks mom!)

Remember What is Most Important....

It's not having everything go right,
it's facing whatever goes wrong.
It's not being without fear,
it's having the determinationto go on in spite of it.
Remember that every day ends
and brings a new tomorrow
full of exciting new things.
Love what you do,
do the best you can,
and always remember
how much you are loved.

Quick Update ~ "New" Me!!

Well, I am officially Sheri Lynn Sargent again...first time since I was 18! I'm a lot older now, look a lot different too!! :) Here's an updated picture. A friend snapped it the other night as I was getting an award for my 5 years of volunteering with 4H. (Thanks for the great dress, Jackie!!!)

That's all I have time for now. We have no internet or tv channels at the house now, so I'm at the library while Ryan's volunteering at middle school youth group. He really enjoys that. He's loving public high school and doing pretty good. I'm working full time at Dillard's in children's shoes. It's pretty crazy and hectic this single mom of a teen life, but it's all good!!!

Love to all of you!!!

Courtney's RAK ~ February

I already received my RAK for February!! Can you believe it?? My partner is sooo on the ball!! I am still trying to get hers out!! And she sent me soooo much good stuff it's amazing! I could barely fit it all in one picture!! (actually I didn't, I had to take lots more - haha!!) But I'll start with one.

There's a gorgeous card, a pack of DP, two sheets of stickers with expressions and one sheet of gold Happy Birthdays. Then there's a whole bunch of images she stamped for me!! Cute little teddy bears, bunnies, little girls with pudgy cheeks, a flower and Hedgie!!! My first ones ever!!! He's sooooo cute!!!! I got close ups........

Isn't she sweet???

And Hedgie is sooooooo cute!!!!

Oh, that's just darling!!!

The teddy is so cute!! And I forgot about the little guy in the pumpkin!!

More cute teddie, and bunnies below.....

Oooh, the pretty flowers.....

Now I have to go get something proper to color them all with.......

What a gorgeous card!! I love all the layering!!
And the flower is such a nice touch, just the right size, not too much, not too little.
It looks very vintage, like 1920's maybe - or something ike that. Wow!!

The coloring is ewxquisite!! Wow! If I ever get this good, well, I'll be very happy to say the least!! She is just beautiful!
Thank you so very, very much Nikki!! You have been incredibly generous!!!

Secret Sister Week 5

My Secret Sister continues to be so generous!! This week she sent me 3 sheets of really psychedelic, groovy Stickopotamus Stickers, a lovely clear stamp and a great card!!

Look at how precise the coloring is - so pretty!! I wish I had the patience for this!! I just love tulips!! They are one of my favorite flowers!! Tulips, Daffodils, and Violets - I love them!!

Look at the leaves on this image! Wow!! And the blue background behind them filled in so perfectly! I could never do that!

And here is a close up of the adorable stamp she sent me! I can hardly wait to use it!

Update the Valentine!!

I came across a challenge out in blog-land (over at Pooka's Crayon) that suggested we try to update the Valentine. Remember the silly little Valentine's we gave out as kids? You know, the cheap little ones we still buy for our kids because they come 24 to a box for about 99 cents. They have cartoon people on one side and say To: / From: on the other side. You fold them in half so they almost disappear, then pass them out to your classmates.

Well, the challenge was to remake these little bitties. They had to be one-sided, no larger that 3.5" x 5'', say To/From on the back, have at least one stamp and two embellishments. I thought - "What a great idea for my small group of sixth grade girls in youth group!" So, I made 14 (ran short a few and need to make more tomorrow! Ack!) and here they are! My embellishments are mostly ribbon and stickers, but occasionally there's a rub on also. ;)

This dog one I've saved for my son!! ;)

Stamps: SU, Studio G, All Night Media, Fiskars, Hero Arts, KI Memories
Ink: SU, ColorBox Chalk
Stickers: Hallmark, Suzies Zoo, Mrs. Grossman's, Cloud 9 Designs byFiskars
Rub Ons: Making Memories
Dog Bone Paperclips: Markings by CR Gibson
Ribbon, Paper, coloring instruments: various

Secret Sister Week 4

Here's the great stuff my SS sent for Week 4. Another adorable card!! A clear stamp (I LOVE them!!!) and some really cool things I can't quite describe!! Read on!!

I have never seen these before but they are soooo cool!! Just put one on the front of your card, maybe embellish a little if you want, and you are ready to go! It is beautiful!! All shiny and holographic like!! Wow!! There were 6 in the pack - three like this and three with a bird.

They're called Christmas Picture Prints by Dufex Craft Products. The package says they are engraved and will allow you to add light and movement to your projects. Sooo cool!!!! You can check them out here http://www.dufexcrafts.com/

How sweet is this?? House Mouse leaning on his Teddy!!! I love it!! This is my secopnd House Mouse card and he is just too cute for words!!! And the paper he is matted on is just gorgeous!! I'm going to take this card to Archiver's so I can try to find this kind of paper!! I love it!! It's shimmery without being overbearing, and textured too. Soooo cool!!

Secret Sister Week 3

Wow!! I can hardly believe week three of our Secret Sister exchange has come and gone already!! I am so behind in posting the wonderful goodies I have been receiving! My SS sent me 4 sheets of Stickopotamus stickers, a bunch of really cute pink ribbon, a piece of ribbon that says "Made Especially for You" on it and another beautifully hand colored card! That really seems to be her speciality!
This would be a great Valentine's Day card!! So sparkly and glittery!!
Isn't the coloring fabulous??
And the paper is either handmade or mulberry or something! It's fantastic!!
Hmmm...who shall I use it for???? {grin}
