Z Fold Card Challenge & Spot Light on Sentiments

This is my very first card challenge. It is a Z fold card with a rectangle on the front, the challenge was issued by Beate. I also decided to enter it into the Spotlight on Sentiments challenge, since it seemed to fit it. :) And, I added a challenge of my own to it. I've been trying to challenge myself to "use it up". On this card, I used scraps for the leaf punches and the mini envelope has been hanging around forever, so it qualifies. :) I made it as a get well card for my youth pastor who had back surgery recently. I was very happy with it. The stamp set that I used I had just gotten from my most recent SU party and this was my first card that I made with it.

Showing the front with the envelope as the rectangle and the sentiment "Thinking of you"

Here you can see the inside with another sentiment ~ "I'm praying for you"

Inside the envelope is a little tag/card with the first sentiment that I chose for this card "May you find strength in the love that surrounds you."

recipe (as best s I can remember it) ~~

cardstock ~ unknown light gray color
ink - SU basic black and real red
stamps - SU Sayings and Such, Fall Whimsy, and Warmest Regards, unknown "praying for you" stamp
leaf punches
mini envelope

This was a blast, Thanks Beate and Tanis!!

LIFE ~ Love in full expression

Well, my time as a nanny has almost come to a close. So, I decided to start a new blog. One that is more about my life in general, and not just one part of it. Nannyventure had become a place to keep everyone up to date on the family, but I didn't like the title, url or the description for that purpose and couldn't figure out how to change it.

So I tried to figure out how to encompass all that my life includes into a title - God, family, homeschool, 4H, volunteering with kids, midle school youthand animals, photography, crafts - what do I care the most about? What I came up with was this~ helping ~ people and animals. I love to help, always have.
My favorite verse in the Bible is Galatians 6:9 ~
Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

For as much asI love to help others, I do sometimes get worn out, tired and discouraged. But this verse gives me hope. I truly believe that we are blessed in order to pass that on - blessed to be a blessing. Another great verse that I really love is in Hebrews and it talks about helping others ~
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. ~Hebrews 13:2

I will move all my old posts over here, with the same dates (if posssible) so they will be in the archives, then I will delete the nannyventure blog. But I will send out reminders and such to everyone first. :)

thank you's and other neccessities of life

Well, I am now able to drive after three weeks of being off for my ankle surgery. There were so many people who stepped up to help me during my three weeks of "convalescent" time, I made some cards for them. Each one was made especially for the individual, so they are all unique. I also had a friend who suffered quite a few life losses in a very short time, so I made a card for her. I like to post all my cards in the spirit of sharing creativity. God gave me the gift and it would be wrong of me to hoard it. So, feel free to copy my ideas for the benefit of others!

The next two pictures are the inside of the red Thank you card. I used the rose stamp tag to cover the ribbon used for the thank you tag on the outside of the card.

Most of my stamps are Stampin' Up, as are my ink pads. Most of my cards stock comes from Wal Mart or Hobby Lobby, I don't know color names. My idea of you copying is to get a general idea and then personalize it. That is why I haven't posted exact directions. If you're curious about a particular stamp set, I can let you know the name of it.

Cards for Soldiers

Here are some of the cards I've made to send to soldiers for birthdays and other occasions....

This particular card I made from a card front I received from someone else. But you can use it (like all of mine) for ideas. :)
